3 users: Then you have grown out of QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus and QuickBooks Online Essential
(Note: QuickBooks Online Essentials has up to two accountant seats)
5 users: Then you have grown out of QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus and QuickBooks Online Plus
(Note: QuickBooks Online Essentials has up to two accountant seats, and QuickBooks Online Plus allows you to opt to purchase additional user seats up to a total of 25)
10 users: Then you will no longer be able to add one user at a time for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. If you remain on QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, then you will need to obtain a 30-user license. Or, you can:
- Move to QuickBooks Online Plus and pay per user to add to the included 5 seats, on up to a total of 25, or
- Move to QuickBooks Online Advanced and have up to 25 users, included in the total cost of your subscription.

Payment Flexibility
Pricing flexibility is often an important aspect of subscription acquisition for SMB businesses due to cash flow management. Some businesses may want to pay a lump sum annually, while others may prefer to pay in smaller amounts monthly. Intuit offers different pricing flexibility for the Desktop and Online suites of products. Sales Orders Required
If you require a sales order feature for your business, then this is a simple one. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is your product. The QuickBooks Online suite of products does not currently have a sales order feature like the QuickBooks Desktop suite does. In QuickBooks Online, there is a feature for generating estimates, and then you can convert the estimate into an invoice. The first video below will show you what that looks like.
