Out Of The Box Technology, founded by Lisa McCarthy and Andrew Abrams, is the result of more than 30 years combined experience consulting with business owners on their accounting and technology needs.
After years in corporate accounting and finance, working for EDS and Pepsi-Cola, Lisa started a QuickBooks® consulting firm in Michigan called Accounting Resource. For 13 years she worked with small business owners, and then a very lucky turn of events happened. Lisa met Andrew Abrams at a professional training event in Chicago. Andrew was then president of ABA Consulting, a Milwaukee based Accounting and Technology consulting company.
"Within 30 minutes of talking with Andrew, I knew I wanted him as a partner. We each had unique strengths, which combined, allowed us to provide end-to-end services to our clients," said Lisa. Andrew had more than 15 years of experience in retail, accounting, information technology and inventory management.
"Our focus was similar at the time – franchises and end-to-end ‘boxed’ solutions," said Andrew. “Lisa and I have been on the same wave length regarding our business plan and how we want to grow five years from now.”
However, technology was changing as quickly as Andrew and Lisa, former co-founders of Technology In A Box, were building their business. With the onset of cloud computing, hosted applications, and a multitude of web-based business solutions, Andrew and Lisa decided to create a new company - Out Of The Box Technology - and a new image that signifies a flexible environment that can swiftly adapt to changing technology and customer needs.
